 The FIFA World Cup is the biggest tournament in football. In this tournament, different countries from all over the world participate. In an ongoing tournament, 32 teams participated, which is being played in Qatar.

FIFA has held the world cup every four years since its start in 1930. It is the biggest event in football, so it generates a lot of money. FIFA gives money to every single team that qualifies for the World Cup. The price increases with the team's progress.
Here is a brief discussion of the prize a team gets when they qualify for the World Cup, second round, round of sixteen, quarter final, semi final, and final. Also the price of the winner of the World Cup final.



Teams who reached First Round:

Let's start with the teams that only managed to qualify for the World Cup and got eliminated in the first round. These teams earn 9 million dollars each. In total, 16 teams went out in the group stage, which means FIFA paid 144 million dollars to these 16 teams, or 9 million dollars per team.

Teams who reached round of sixteen:

Teams that managed to reach the round of sixteen but got eliminated earned 13 million dollars each. Eight teams' world cup journeys ended in this round, and in total, 144 million dollars got away with them.

Teams who reached the quarterfinals:

Teams that were eliminated in the quarterfinals earned 17 million dollars each. which, for four teams, is 68 million dollars.


The fourth-place team prize is 25 million dollars. The third-place team prize is worth 27 million dollars. The runner-up team's price is 30 million dollars.

And then here comes the winner of the world cup in 2022. The winner's prize for the 2022 World Cup is 42 million dollars. After adding all these huge prizes, we got an enormous 440 million dollars, which FIFA is giving to all 32 teams according to the above-mentioned pattern.

FIFA earns this money from organising the World Cup. All this money comes from sponsors, etc.
